Recently, U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Healy (WAGB 20) completed a $14M maintenance overhaul and repair evolution at Mare Island Dry Dock in Vallejo, California. While there, engineers repaired and upgraded the rudder/steering and multiple shipboard plant systems. The cutter also received new coatings of red paint to the hull, among other things. The Healy was brought to dry dock in Vallejo, and a replacement motor was sent from the U.S. Coast Guard Yard, where it was placed on a barge and transited the Panama Canal to California.
