Researchers have discovered one of the world’s smallest known dinosaurs in Argentina’s Patagonia region, where massive species like the eight-ton Giganotosaurus and the 70-ton Argentinosaurus once roamed 95 million years ago. The newly described fossil, named Alnashetri cerropoliciensis and nicknamed “Alna,” was about crow-sized and weighed approximately 0.7 kilograms. The well-preserved skeleton shows the dinosaur probably hunted small animals such as lizards, snakes, mammals and invertebrates.
