🏀On June 15, 2004 the Detroit Pistons won their third NBA championship in franchise history with a 100-87 win over the heavily favored Los Angeles Lakers in Game 5 of the NBA Finals, taking the series 4-1. The game marked coach Phil Jackson’s first NBA Finals series loss after 9 titles. The game also saw Shaquille O'Neal, Gary Payton and Karl Malone's last game in a Lakers uniform.
