Two people and two dogs were rescued from a vessel in deteriorating weather conditions Monday evening in Middlesex County, according to Abingdon Volunteer Fire and Rescue.

First responders in Essex rescued two people and a dog from the Essex River on Friday night after their sailboat ran aground and began to take on water.
