The Oklahoma Sooners are preparing for a challenging game against the Tennessee Volunteers, with quarterback John Mateer facing scrutiny after recent performances.

Tennessee first played Oklahoma in the 1939 Orange Bowl following its national championship season in 1938. The Vols shut out Oklahoma, 17-0, to complete an undefeated season. The two teams also played in the 1967 Orange Bowl with the Sooners winning, 26-24. Oklahoma won at home in 2014, recording a 34-10 victory.

Crockett, who was first elected to the House of Representatives in 2022, was named by former Vice President Kamala Harris as she discussed the future of the Democratic Party in a recent interview with the Associated Press. Crockett previously served in the Texas House of Representatives from 2021 to 2023.

Tennessee announced its uniform combination versus the Sooners on Monday. The Vols will wear dark mode uniforms against Oklahoma at Neyland Stadium. Tennessee football is 5-1 all time when wearing black uniforms.
